[Two full days have passed, with no end of the New Feathers in sight. Though the newcomers have seemed essentially harmless thus far, curiosity has gotten the better of him. He's out in town today rather than squirreled away in the forest, scanning around for potentially familiar faces.]

[After a long, arduous day spent training in the forest, the stalwart Paladin returns home to his loving-and-yet-makeshift family, greeting them cordially before settling down with his journal the way some patriarchs reach for the daily newspaper. Frowning, he jots out a short note.]

[OOC: It occured to me while I was on hiatus that I've missed out on a bunch of "Hey come sleep over!" threads and have no idea who's currently inhabiting the house. XDD ROOMIES! HOUSEMATES! I demand threads.]

[Cecil had been counting on Kain to guard over the household in the event of an emergency during this event. Given that hope was dashed once Rosa and Kain switched bodies, Cecil has taken it upon himself to train Eiko's scrawny body into something able to defend itself if something malicious decided to invade the village while its most powerful were unable to access their normal abilities.

Should anyone be traveling past House 59 this morning, one might catch sight of a tiny little girl with an oversized sword and shield wobbly attempting to perform basic swordsmanship.]

[Lately, being alone is always enough to startle Cecil from sleep. He's grown accustomed to his wife's gentle touch, and Luceti's left him paranoid that something could happen to her at a moment's notice. Added is the constant vigilance necessary to tend to two stubborn mutes, and it means that Cecil's awake close to the moment of transfer, hopping (hopping?) out of bed and padding(?!) to the closest journal, flipping through it for more information. The hand turning the pages certainly feels a lot smaller and daintier than his norm.]

I shall assume we're overdue for another event.

It remains a trying time for those of us who remain. Still, perhaps it would do all of us some good to rejoice in those of us who remain, as well as the sacrifice by those no longer with us. It is customary on my world to feast after a long battle, in respect and homage of those who lay their lives for us to have the privilege. Though it would be a bit belated in this instance, perhaps such an event might be organized for us here as well?

Upon the morrow, I shall embark on a hunt for the largest, most succulent beasts this terrain has to offer. If there are any men among you similarly restless, I extend a welcome to any who would hunt beside me.

[After the events of the previous week, the mature thing to do would have been to would have been to take the awkward stares and deliver his humble apologies like a man. Yet after spending a week steeped in the most negative emotions he'd indulged in even the darkest of fantasies, it was easier to keep to himself.

He'd been spending quite a bit of time along the southeastern banks of the river running outside the village, staying outdoors to avoid the all-encompassing yet entirely oppressive forgiveness that awaited him at home. He would make amends and pay his dues in time, but for now, there was still the matter of coping with what was within him that the experiment had tapped to affect his actions.

The man lying faceup on the riverbank would still be visibly bruised despite sharing living space with a mage proficient in the healing arts. He'd been grateful to have been pulled from the precipice of death, yes, but wished to let the tender achy muscles, dark bruises, and angry gashes heal on their own as penance. It was in this way that he watched the sky begin to darken, chronicling the sun's slow journey towards rest.]

[And, for this event, have some Dark Knight Cecil -- rather, the Dark Knight that Cecil remembers with all the self-indulgence of an emo drama queen. Expect the kind of hyper-aggressive person who would gleefully and remorselessly pillage a town, rape its women, and murder the elderly for their taste in jewelery. You know. For kids! :D]

Rosa, for the next several days you are to remain in the apartment. If you intend to go anywhere or see anyone, I will be informed. Understand?

[The routine was becoming normal: fall asleep in a huge bed next to his gorgeous wife, wake up, tend to the kingdom that was so new it still didn't feel like his. Except this morning, he found himself awaking in a strange land, wearing strange clothes, and lacking his usual means of defense. Also, lacking his wife.]

Where..?

[As he rose from the undecorated bed, it struck him that the wings didn't bother him as much as he'd expected them to. They were still bizarre, of course, but the muscles felt familiar enough, as if he'd owned a pair like these just last week. None of this speculation was getting him answers, though. It was the only reasonable thing to slide into the clothes left at the foot of his bed and exit the quaint little apartment to seek answers wherever they might be hiding in this new setting.]
